What makes our keyboard special?

Updated: Mar 28

With an octave width of 5.5 inches or 14 cm, (compared to standard pianos with an octave width of 6.5 inches or 16.5 cm), our keys are sized to fit the average adult female hand (and also work well for children and smaller-handed men). You will find octaves and big 4-note chords much more comfortable to play. For some of you, it may make bring those within reach for the first time ever.

Compared to a typical piano, our keys have the same key dip, the distance they can be pressed down while playing.

The most important dimension to a piano key is the length; our white keys are a full 6 inches (15.2 cm) from front to back, the same as a standard piano. This long key gives you excellent control over your musical expression while playing (unlike short micro-keys as found in many controllers). We designed this keyboard for the demands of professional musical performance while hoping to price it to be affordable to the average consumer. Until now, 5.5 scale keyboards in pianos have been expensive, custom-made instruments. We are working hard to make this a quality, reasonably-priced instrument.
